Seven things WEIRD about me!
Sometime ago (around 9 months back i.e..time flies so yeah it’s just *sometime*
) Asma tagged me to show the blogoworld how weird I am by writing seven weird things about myself. Today, I finally thought to blog it, so here’s the list:
1. If you want to murder me without taking the risk of being caught by police, make me drink a cup of tea. Tea is something that I just can’t take….for me it’s yucky. Taking even a sip of it can turn out to be nauseating for me. I had to to drink it once out of formality, that is when I was at this travel agency getting the requirements for one of our college projects. Till to date I’m finding out ways to file an "attempt to murder" case against my teammate…who gave me a little kick under the table asking me to drink the brown fluid in the cup lying in front of me and get going. I didn’t know how to excuse so picked up the cup with trembling hands and drank tea in one breath…argg…
The more weirdo thing is that I’m known for making very good tea
2. In 23 years of my life, I have never bought a lipstick..not even once but that doesn’t mean I don’t use it; in fact that’s the only thing that I use….mascaras, blush ons, foundations etc. are just not for me. For me wearing makeup=wearing a lipstick. I have got 2-3 shades that I stole from my mother’s drawer and they are enough for me
. A few days back I shared this li’l secret with my colleagues who happen to be good friends too and from the surprised look that I got, seems like they will lure me to buy one sometime soon.
3. I’m a psycho when it comes to cleanliness. The place where I live or where I work needs to be ultra clean to make me feel comfortable. If I a see even a tiny little cocky somewhere, I’d go to any extent to find it and spray it to death else the thought of it being present somewhere near literally haunts my mind. The level of weirdness can be realized from the fact that twice my family members and I took our own plates and spoons with us when we went out to eat something
He he…u thought I’m the only clean freak psycho at home? Let me tell you that I’m partly so because of the extreme hygienic conditions that I have been brought up in; but to tell you the truth, I attribute my week immune system to the same as well and won’t suggest any of you to be a freak like me.
4. Can you guess my monthly cellphone expenses? I call people and send/reply to text messages like anyone else does but my expenses never cross Rs.100-150 monthly
I believe some dua for barkat has really worked out Alhamdulilah because I don’t even have any special packages activated on my number
5. It has been more than a year now since I graduated but you’d very often hear people (especially my neighbors) asking me that which school/college are you studying these days and when I tell them I completed my bachelors last year and ‘am since then working somewhere, they give me an amazed look and say, "Aww..you look so young!" I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing but I personally feel I look my age.
6. My most favorite status in any IM client is "Invisible/Appear Offline", I might be online all day but you would rarely see me online. Thanks to these lovely status options!
If I stay online at a certain time, that’s usually because I need to communicate with my teammates.
7. I’m known for my uncontrollable laughter
If I start laughing, no breaks brakes can easily be applied to that storm of laughter then. Surprisingly, where ever I have been to, be it school, college or offices, I find people who somewhat have similar laughing habits(or may be my laughing disease is viral) and it often is a disaster when we gang up
. When I was in 8th grade, the only complaint from my teachers was that she and her groupies laugh too much
and no we never laugh with the intention of making fun of others thereby hurting them; but our own blunders are more than often enough to give us fits of laughter.
So, these are some of things that show how weird I am but trust me there are many more.
I tag everyone who wants to be tagged may be Sana, Aamir, Munir(as a little attempt to make him update his blog
), Sakina, Ali and Raza in particular, if they like!

Ooooh .. I had forgotten about this tag BTW a.d girl you hate tea.
My goodness
Oh my goodness
*asma faints*

@Asma
He he..abb yaad aagaya
Yup I hatee tea in all its forms…I’m not even fond of coffee
Comment by Administrator — September 18, 2008 @ 11:54 pm
I always wonder how people manage to keep their rooms neat and clean, never managed to achieve that so far.
How can you LIVE without tea/coffee??!! I keep on thanking the Almighty daily for this blessing
Comment by Anas Imtiaz — September 19, 2008 @ 12:53 am
Apart from the lip-stick, you and I have a lot in common.
My room or work-space aren’t particularly clean, at any point of time, and there’s stuff littered about quite a bit, but I do have to ensure cleanliness regarding food and utensils, just like you.
I don’t dislike tea, but I don’t particularly like it either. Needless to add, I am not a regular tea-drinker.
The cell-phone expenses are ditto for you and I.
I may not laugh uncontrollably myself, but can sometimes make others do that and it did land me in trouble at school, at times.

“… I’m known for making very good tea
” and you know who said that
Comment by Ali Raza Shaikh — September 19, 2008 @ 1:46 am
Just one question: Tell me the secret of keeping the cell fone bill not under 150 but under 1000…Please I really need to know…I dont call people and talk to them for hours or even for 10 minutes…My calls are short…then why I get billed in 4 digits and that too on the higher end…:S
Comment by Syed Talha Izhar — September 19, 2008 @ 4:14 am
Your weird facts are completely opposite for me dear fari..except maybe tea part since I don’t drink tea
but I sure won’t die if someone makes me drink a cup of tea

Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman!

“I call people and send/reply to text messages like anyone else does but my expenses never cross Rs.100-150 monthly”
the very statement implies u must be charged for all this and that must exceed Rs150… or u can justify it by removing ‘like anyone else’ part
Comment by AamirRaz — September 19, 2008 @ 8:06 pm
How can you not like Tea?! As I often say, tea is all us poor souls can drink!
Comment by Raza — September 20, 2008 @ 3:35 pm
@Anas Imtiaz
Welcome to my blog Anas
In my case, dusting even once a week helps me keep my room clean and tidy; but it is very important to place everything in its place after you use it else if you start putting things here and there, you’ll end up creating a mess.
@Sidhusaaheb
Taanun Parra jee main aiwaien te nahi kehindee aan na
@Ali
He he…u bhai sahib and many more too
particularly one of my mother’s friends and my youngest mamoon
@Talha
Barra ghambir masla hai
Actually Talha, very often people also send not much needed text messages for eg. forwarded msgs…I don’t usually forward them unless they r really really good. Secondly, I don’t send messages like “Yes”, “Ok” or “No”. I’d either send a complete message or if I know that the anything needs proper coversation, I’d rather call a person and that saves money. Sometimes a single 5 mins call is a lot better than a chain of 10 messages.
Hope this helps warna balance main barkat k liye u always get in touch with Fariha baba
@Lubz
Ha ha..and even after reading this u decided to go for cosmetics shopping with me?
Apologies dear friend…can’t be of help there!

7. I’m known for my uncontrollable laughter
I like the word you used over here.
I have read too many times the wired things about me, I think I should also write some in my blog as well.
Its fun to read
Comment by awahid — September 21, 2008 @ 6:22 am
Hey Fariha, I had to laugh when I read this post
Know, what? I don’t use lipstick, but aside from that, all the seven points in the list more or less fit.
I don’t like tea/coffee. I don’t use makeup
I’m obsessed with cleanliness. Cellphone expenses tend to stay under Rs150/month. I am a graduate, but people do sometimes ask which school/college I am in (and the weird thing is I’m about 6 feet tall). My status remains either offline or online, both of which could mean anything
And I’m pretty easy to get laughing or giggling. It’s almost embarrassing sometimes
And finally, I hope this post means you are feeling better now
Comment by waqas — September 21, 2008 @ 12:12 pm

In an old play by Anwar Maqsood, Moin Akhtar exclaimed that ‘Tea is like a beautiful woman… golden-brown, warm and sweet’
hehe
Khair, agar hamari chai pe chalne wali qaum k ta’assuraat kuch aap ki tarah ho jatay tau tonnes of tea imports bachnay se shayad National Deficit mei kuch kamee aa jati

Rs.100-150 monthly
seems more like “Kunda” arrangement than a dua.
