Sindhi Newspapers
Since Sindhi is my mother tongue so i’ve always enjoyed reading sindhi newspapers but it’s gr8 to see that sindhi newspapers are gaining readership from even those to whom sindhi is a second langauge. Owais Mughal from Pakistaniat.com has written a wonderful article "Sindhi Newspapers in Pakistan " , which presents some interesting points about sindhi newspress. A very well-written and well-researched article!

ah! i wish i was that dedicated to my own mother tongue! can’t even understand it, much less speak in it

hmmm…my mother tounge is also sindhi and i feel very proud to be sindhi and speak….everyone in our family speaks in sindhi and we never use any other language at home…..as far as reading newspaper is concerned the sindhi newspapers are very boring, i know that because no one at my place is interested in reading newspapers other than my baba nd he reads the sindhi one….all it contains is black and white pictures of dead people and the stories of interior stating boy killed parents, father killed children and God knows what…..i know even that is important for us to know but this is not only what is happening around, there are greater issues to discuss….i know fariha u really want to read sindhi news papers so if u want i can bring u one every day…

@ Mansoor
don’t worry mansoor bhai…it’s never too late…u can start learning ur mother tongue even now…seriously….and yes though i can speak sindhi fluently but i’m not very good at writing and sumtimes even reading it
…..still i’m always trying to improve
@Haya
I take it as a positive thing abt sindhi newspapers that they focus on issues that otherwise might go unnoticed as they don’t find place in other more popular newspapers and haya if u cud bring me a sindhi newspaper everyday then i can offer u kurkuray for that

Its great to know that the youth in metropolitan is concious about the mother tongue -
but ironic as it is - not many of them are fluent in the language?!?!?
I must ask you guys - where is sindhi as a language headed? scarcity of upcoming
litraries, degradation of the exsisting ones , lack of the instruments that are needed
for a language to progress…how can you change the scenario?
Excellent Blog - Fariha - !:)

@Adeel
Thanks for liking my blog Adeel. It is indeed sad to know that many are not fluent in the language and what is even more disturbing to see is that some just pretend not be too good at it b’coz they don’t feel proud of their origin. These r the ppl who try to conceal their identity through fake accents!
@Atif
Ada tahaan hanay bhi sindhi sikhi sagho tha agar chahyo ta…now in case u don’t understand what i’ve written in sindhi i translate it for u “Ada u can still learn sindhi if u want to”….it’s just a matter of how dedicated u r to ur language!

Although this might make it a bit tedious but then this would give you th
the sort of mentality that exsists these days - Mahatir Mohamed
says “The British in their superiority complex - didnt even refrain
from corrupting their own language - they break their own rules-
you arrive at New York, you arrive at Lahore but you Arrive in
London” - this might give you an idea of what going in the heads!
So have u started the “Research”:)
